On 1 July Share joined Uniting, the new community services arm of the Uniting Church in Victoria and Tasmania.
Uniting was formed from a network of 22 agencies and two Church business units – Early Childhood Services and Share.
We came together as Uniting to ensure the best possible outcomes for the people we support now and into the future. We want to address the anticipated changes within the community services sector.
We are Uniting for greater change. Uniting to do more.
This is an exciting chapter in Share’s life as we come together with existing UnitingCare and Wesley Mission Victoria fundraising teams to form a united and cohesive fundraising program.
Donations will continue to support people who are most in need and the programs that are close to your heart. As part of the merger Uniting will continue delivering over 700 programs to our communities across Victoria and Tasmania.
Uniting has its foundations in the inclusive and diverse Uniting Church, and draws on our common values to take action to help male a positive difference in people’s lives. By being a single united voice we now have a greater capacity to respond to the growing needs within our communities.
This move will also streamline fundraising by eliminating the duplication of fundraising appeals and activities that were previously carried out by Share and individual agencies. Fundraising is a competitive environment and by merging there is greater strength in how we engage the community in supporting our work.
