Asylum Seeker Partners

By becoming an asylum seeker partner, you’ll play a vital role in helping people during their most vulnerable times.

Asylum seekers living in our communities are in desperate need of support. Many do not have an income because they have no rights to work. Often they do not have stable housing, access to
government support or Medicare. Additionally, they may experience significant physical and/or mental health issues.

People seeking asylum fall outside the homelessness support system, and so housing is a critical issue. They are not eligible for mainstream homelessness accommodation or public housing, and often do not have the income needed to access private rental.

Choose one of the following regular giving amounts, or you can choose your own amount and we’ll ensure it gets to where it’s needed most. Your gifts will be distributed to UnitingCare agencies in Victoria and Tasmania that are supporting asylum seekers just like Rana (read her story here).

FoodYour support can go towards buying food vouchers each month for an asylum seeker who is struggling to put meals on the table.

HousingYou will help provide crisis accommodation and assist with rental costs for asylum seekers who would otherwise be homeless.

AS_LivingAssistanceYour support will provide an asylum seeker with vouchers for fresh food and vegetables, MYKI travel cards, clothes, toiletries, bed linen, and other essential household items.
